Last Sunday, I took my camera and hopped on a train to attend a meet and greet in Geneva organized by Angie, the founder and CEO of The Hairoine. She recently created a meetup group called "Geneva Black Hair" aiming to give the opportunity to discuss and learn about natural hair.

We started by all introducing ourselves. There were new (and old) naturals, some women who had never relaxed their hair, some considering going natural  and some who were hidding their natural hair under braids wondering what to do after they take them down (yes, we've all been there...). It was lovely to see and hear about all these different journeys. We also all had the opportunity to ask questions to the whole crowd, so we talked about issues like transitioning, hot oil treatments, braiding, etc., and everybody seemed happy to be able to connect with other naturals and share experiences.

To end this afternoon with a bang, Angie did a beautiful hairstyle on a model with a gorgeous set of hair. Her name is Kali and you'll be hearing more about her on the blog sooooooooooon! All in all, I had a blast and met some really nice, down-to-earth, beautiful ladies and I can't wait to see how this meetup group is going to evolve! Switzerland is finally catching up on the curly/kinky revolution!

If you live around Geneva, join the meetup group and/or like the Facebook page!

'Til next time,
